How to Get to Skiathos

TRAVELLING TO SKIATHOS ISLAND

There are many ways to travel to the island of Skiathos in order to participate in the 3rd Skiathos International Football Tournament (S.I.F.T.).

By air

There are direct flights to Skiathos Airport from more than 17 European destinations, including the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and more.
Teams can fly into Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” and then continue with a domestic flight operated by Aegean Airlines or SKY express, both of which offer daily routes to and from Skiathos. To secure cheaper fares, teams are encouraged to consider different travel dates and explore low-cost carriers (e.g., Ryanair, easyJet, Wizz Air) connecting major European cities to Athens.

By Land and Sea

By plane you can fly directly to Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” or Thessaloniki Airport “Makedonia.”

For travel to Skiathos, book ferry tickets on Ferryhopper.com for live schedules and e-tickets. The nearest mainland departure point is the port of Volos, which lies about 41 nautical miles (≈76 km) from Skiathos and offers both conventional car ferries and faster hydrofoils. If bringing a vehicle, check that the selected ferry has a car deck and note that vehicle fares are charged separately; expect higher fares for fast hydrofoils and lower fares on conventional ferries
